WHY TIMBERWORKS?Quality. Care. Craftmanship.SEE FOR YOURSELF
The construction techniques used by TimberWorks, while far more time consuming and painstaking, provide for a finer more elegant looking piece of furniture. Mechanical fasteners (nails, screws or brads) are used sparingly and when employed, every effort is made to use them where they will not be seen. When used in a viewable area, screws are countersunk and wood plugs (grain and color matched) are carefully placed to cover the screw. By grain and color matching, a nearly undetectable joint is obtained. Although, when a piece contains contrasting wood, plugs of the contrasting hardwood can be applied to accent the piece.
Face frames are joined to their cabinets by either biscuits or splines so no brads or nails are used. Brads and nails leave holes that must be filled and maybe detectable in the finished piece. When it is necessary to use nails or brads, such as with oddly shaped trim, they are counter sunk and a filler of matching color is applied. (more quality details on fine furniture) TimberWorks also accepts commissioned carving and wood sculpture work. Wood carving can also be incorporated into your fine furniture piece.
